The Story of HootnHoller's Logo

What’s behind a logo? Well, for me, quite a lot.

HootnHoller’s logo is, of course, my two birds, Walter and Loopey, who are very special to me. What about the funny farmer’s clothing on Walter?

That could be there just for cuteness. It could be there to represent where HootnHoller is based, in Alabama, where we have an abundance of farmland and with that, farmers. Heck, HootnHoller is surrounded by cattle and cotton fields once you get past the woods.

.
Or the funny farmer’s outfit could have a much deeper meaning. It could represent my dad who wore his overalls every single day, no matter what. No matter how embarrassed my mother or I were when we went to town or to a restaurant, he was there in those overalls. Maybe Walter’s straw hat 👒 is a reminder of my dad’s love for hats. It was a must for riding the tractor 🚜 or you would face severe sunburn.
.
.
My dad. The one who helped look for Loopey when he went missing. The one who loved animals just as much as I do.
.
.
My dad who passed away from cancer and left me all of his woodworking tools he had. My dad who inspired me to start HootnHoller after he died, because I wanted his things to be used and no
t forgotten.

.
.
There is a memory of the past every time wood is cut, sanded, or drilled with what he left behind.
.
.
Every logo sticker applied, he’s with me. He is proud.
.
.
Maybe a logo is just a logo. Just cute. But for me it is something much more 💕

History Of HootnHoller

HootnHoller began in early 2018 as an Etsy shop. For 2020, I thought it was time to separate from Etsy and begin my own website. When I departed Etsy on Jan 4th 2020, I left with over 535 sales and 131 reviews, all 5 star except for a few 4 star reviews.

I am so thankful to Etsy for getting me started, and all my previous customers. Thank you all for your continued support-

I couldn't have made it here without you!

When you shop Hoot N Holler, you are supporting a small business (really small!)  that gives back to avian rescues and sanctuaries. You can feel confident knowing that I personally hand pick all materials that go into my toys and most of those materials come from other small business owners like myself, and are based in the USA. I inspect every piece of local  lumber before buying, making sure to collect the best pieces for our feathered friends. I have been known to push dozens of 2x4s aside in order to find the perfect piece! Fresh untreated pine is then sanded to perfection; ready to be crafted into toys for our feathered family members.

All Original Designs

"I have a passion for animals and a drive to constantly create. My designs are inspired by watching how animals learn, play and how they may behave in nature. Our birds are not many generations removed from the wild and they still benefit from activities their wild relatives partake in; foraging, exercise, problem solving and discovery. My hope is that my products help you further enrich your birds' lives."

All designs at HootnHoller are my own creations. I specialize in wood foraging toys, natural perches and shreddables for all size birds; from parrotlets to the largest macaws. It is my goal to help alleviate 'birdie boredom' and encourage foraging and movement within (and outside) the cage. In doing so, we can provide a more enriched life for these beautiful creatures within our homes.

Your purchase helps me donate toys and a portion of my profits to avian rescues and sanctuaries all across the United States.

My toys are created in a pet free workshop for your bird's safety.

Thank you for your support!
